THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A security employee was brutally assaulted by a visitor after the former questioned him for entering the Sagarakanyaka park in Shangumugham which has been declared as a prohibited area in the wake of COVID pandemic. Johnson, the security employee, sustained multiple injuries due to the assault.

The incident occurred by around 4 pm on Saturday after Johnson blocked the youth who entered the park along with two women. Though the visitors were informed that the park will be opened from Sunday onwards, the youth got provoked and started hurling abuses at Johnson. He then went on to beat him several times before leaving the area in an autorickshaw. After undergoing treatment, Johnson filed a complaint at the Valiyathura police station.
