KOCHI: High court has issued an interim order to halt trial proceedings in the actress-attack case till Friday. The high court will consider the government’s plea to change the trial court on Friday. The prosecution has also asked whether the trial court judge is willing to continue to hear the case.
The state government has filed an affidavit in the high court, raising serious allegations against the trial court. The government has told the high court that the trial court has allowed advocates from the side of the accused to ask questions which could have portrayed the victim in an indecent manner.
The trial court has also committed lapses in recording Manju Warrier’s testimony. Manju has also given the testimony that the accused has tried to influence her through her daughter but the court has not recorded it. Her daughter has asked her not to file testimony against the eight accused in the case who is also her father. “Even after pleading the trial court to record her testimony, the court denied it,” the court said.
