kummanam-rajashekaran

PATHANAMTHITTA: The complaint lodged against Kummanam Rajashekaran, BJP former state chief and Mizoram former governor, has been withdrawn. The Aranmula police had registered a case against nine including Kummanam. The complaint is that Kummanam’s former personal assistant Praveen Kumar, a native of Aranmula, had accepted an amount of Rs 28.75 lakh by offering partnership in Bharath Bio Polymer Company in Palakkad.

The complaint was lodged by C R Harikrishnan, hailing from Aranmula. However, there were reports that the party leadership had spoken to the complainant after reports came that Kummanam has been arraigned in the case. Following this, the case was settled. It has been hinted that the complaint was withdrawn after he received the entire amount.

The complaint said Praveen accepted money for the project in Palakkad for manufacturing and distributing native fabric products. Harikrishnan handed over Rs 35 lakh to the account of Canara Bank branch at Kollengode in the name of the company. No share certificate was given. They pointed some issues related to company registration and wrote the agreement in a promissory note of Rs 500 and gave a blank cheque for assurance. Praveen returned Rs 6.25 lakh when Harikumar intervened. He lodged a complaint at the Pathanamthitta Police for the remaining amount.

Vijayan of Kollengode in Palakkad, his wife Krishnaveni, children Daliya, Raniya Saniya, Xavier and BJP NRI cell convenor N Harikumar are the other accused.
