NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping are likely to meet thrice in November through three virtual summits in November-the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Heads of State summit on November 10, the BRICS summit on November 17, and the G20 summit on November 21-22.
The SCO grouping hosted by Russia is the first virtual summit where the two leaders meet for the first time since the nations are engaged in a standoff at the Line of Actual Control.
Earlier this year, Saudi Arabia had virtually hosted the summit of G20 leaders to discuss the strategy of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in which PM Modi and Chinese President Xi were present but relations were not bad.
As per sources, there won't be any bilateral talks at the summit. However, experts opine that the meeting is good in wake of the ongoing tensions between the two nations.
