KASARGOD: High court will consider on Tuesday the plea filed by MLA MC Kamaruddin in connection with Kasargod Jewellery scam case seeking to cancel the cheating cases against him. The state government on Monday has informed the court that it cannot cancel the cheating cases against Kamaruddin.


The government has told the court that many had lost money in the scam and MC Kamaruddin who is one of the owners of the Jewellery is equally guilty as others. Meanwhile, the MLA in his plea ha alleged that the case is taken against him as part of political vengeance.


On Monday, more evidence which reveals Kamaruddin’s involvement in the Jewellery scam has come to light. The probe team has also found out that Kamaruddin and Pookoya Thangal has used the investor’s money to buy property in Bengaluru but details of this transaction have not been found in the company’s register thus the probe panel has concluded that the Bengaluru land deal shows disproportionate assets of the accused.
