THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: “Why the chief minister has turned against the central probe agencies which were like his ‘apple of the eye’ till a few days ago,” opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said. “It is natural for Pinarayi Vijayan to get angry when the son of his party’s secretary gets grilled by probe agencies. But I don’t understand the rationale why he gets agitated when probe agencies are investigating over his former principal secretary’s illegal assets,” he asked.
“The central agencies probe are going in the right direction. Then truth should never be revealed. Chief Minister says that we will loot. Government’s attitude, in this case, is quite preposterous. Government has given nod for vigilance case in order to escape from CBI probe. People will realise govt’s attempt to deceive them,” Chennithala told media during a press brief.
He also alleged that if CM’s principal secretary is fifth accused in the life mission case, then first accused will be the chief minister as he is the chairman of the project.
“Now Pinarayi is talking about morality to hide the great scandals and graft cases that this state has witnessed in the past five years. The chief minister fears that the probe agencies could reach in front of his doorsteps and he is leaving no stone unturned to change attention from the ongoing issues faced by the government, that is why now he is using police to take cases against opposition leaders for smuggling,” the opposition leader said.
Chennithala also said that in the last days of his government he is trying to corner the opposition by creating false cases against its leaders and Pinarayi is the only Kerala leader who has received so much help and assistance from BJP.
