THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vigilance has decided to confiscate the iPhones given by Santhosh Eepan to Swapna Suresh in order to get the building contracts under life mission. Vigilance will serve notice to all those who received the iPhones. The department has earlier seized the iPhone received to Praveen, a native of Peyad. Now, Vigilance is planning moves to confiscate phones from other persons concerned.

The probe team has received the information that Santhosh Eepan has bought seven iPhones for Swapna Suresh. ED has got details of five persons who received the phones. These five are— Advertising company owner Praveen, Air Arabia Manager Padmanabha Sharma, M Sivasankar, Santhosh Eepan and consulate general. The other two phones are being used by additional protocol officer Rajeevan and Jithu, a native of Kollam. ED has not received any official order on possible measures to be taken against these two.

The phone which was initially given to consulate general was given back and it is currently being used by Santhosh Eepan. This phone costs Rs 1.19 lakh. ED’s move to ascertain the details of those who received the phones come in the wake of political controversy, in which it was widely speculated who received the most expensive iPhone?
