NEW DELHI: Supreme court has postponed the hearing of Periya twin murder case. The case will be considered by court after Deepavali. The case was postponed by the court considering CBI’s request. In the affidavit filed before the supreme court, the premier investigation agency says that state government is not cooperating and it is not giving the documents related to the case.
The high court has transferred the case to CBI. Questioning this move, the state government has filed an appeal in the supreme court. CBI has made fierce criticism against the government in response to the government’s plea.
The state government has said that CBI has not started the probe in the case. Meanwhile, CBI in its affidavit has said that the probe has been started. It also said that the government is not cooperating with the probe and it is also not handing over the documents concerned to the probe officials.
The agency told the court that it has recorded phone call details of 34 persons and has also recorded the testimony of some witnesses. Earlier an SC bench headed by Nageshwar Rao has said that if CBI is probing the case then the court will not intervene over the issue.
