THRISSUR: Burglars decamped with 36 sovereigns of gold jewellery from a locked house in Thrissur. The incident happened at the house of Muhammed Ashraf of Chavakkad Puthiyara Valiyakath. Ashraf and his family have been living in Alappuzha for the past eight months. He used to visit the house in Chavakkad once a month. He was not able to come for the past two months due to COVID.

The theft was noticed when the servant reached the house. The burglars entered the house after breaking open the back door. The Chavakkad police have started a probe on the incident.
