THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: When ED is producing more evidence against Bineesh Kodiyeri CPM and government is gradually going into a defenceless position. The allegations which were raised at a time when local body polls around the corner could severely damage LDF when the campaigning officially commences.

Even though, the party clinging on to its previous stand that party leaders have nothing to do with the crimes done by their children, CPM workers strongly believe that it could dent the party’s image in the local body polls. Therefore CPM has already started discussions and brainstorming to find solutions to the impending issue. The party leaders have put forward suggestions including removing Kodiyeri from the state secretary’s post.

Though the party has raised the counter allegation that probe agencies are being misused by the centre to subserve their political interests, the seriousness of Bineesh’s case is also a cause of concern to the party leaders. Certain leaders have strongly urged to remove Kodiyeri from secretaryship and reports suggests that he has also shown willingness to resign from the post.
