NEW DELHI: The CBI gave a letter to the court urging to postpone the case when the Supreme Court is all set to consider the Lavalin case today. The CBI sought two weeks more time to produce the documents.

A bench led by Justice U U Lalith while hearing the argument in the case on October 8 directed to produce a detailed note on the incident of acquitting the accused by two courts. The CBI who gave a detailed note had then sought two more weeks’ time to produce the documents. The CBI sought two weeks’ time when the case was considered today after Dussehra vacation.

The CBI moved the Supreme Court challenging the high court verdict of 2017 acquitting three including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The high court had acquitted Pinarayi Vijayan, A Francis and K Mohanachandran from the list of accused. Kasturiranga Iyer, R Sivadasan, K G Rajashekharan had also filed a plea seeking their removal from the list of accused.
