THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Election discussions are gaining steam as local self-government polls get closer. Along with that fronts are in active talks about the Assembly polls, which isn't far behind. NDA is already thinking about the next possible candidate in Nemom, where BJP opened its account for the first time in Kerala through Rajagopal.
In social media debates, there is an opinion that former MLA B Sivankutty or IP Binu will contest as an LDF candidate. Sources close to the party also give high chances for IP Binu. O Rajagopal, in 2016, won the Nemom seat after beating LDF candidate Sivankutty and UDF candidate V Surendran Pillai.
However, BJP workers are putting forward the name of actor and Rajyasabha member Suresh Gopi. Indications are that there are thoughts about this candidacy within the front.
Chances for another candidacy for O Rajagopal is slim. According to the sources, UDF will field a prominent leader in Nemom due to the decrease in vote share. However, names are not decided.
