KOCHI: Veteran drama artiste Chottanikkara Rugminidevi (75) was found dead in her rented house near Chottanikkara on Saturday. It was the house owner who discovered her body in the morning. Following this, police were informed and her body was moved to Trippunithura Taluk Hospital. She is survived by son Radhakrishnan, daughters Sreedevi and Sreelatha.

Rugminidevi entered the professional theatre through Attingal Deshabhimani Theatres. She also acted in plays by Kalashala, Natakasala, Suryasoma, Vaikom Malavika, National Theaters, Cochin Natakavedi and Alleppey Theaters. She has won numerous honours, including state awards.
