KOLLAM: The activities and politics of the government will be discussed in the forthcoming local body elections in the state, said opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala. Corruption is rampant all over the state. When probe in gold smuggling is sought, the government’s reply is that development is being hampered. This is ridiculous. The government's stand is that corruption and looting need not be investigated. The government is opposing central agency after knowing that the probe is reaching the chief minister, blamed Chennithala.
Everything the opposition alleged turned to be true. The government had not implemented any major projects. Only inaugural bonanzas are happening now. The UDF will face the people in local body polls with the slogan ‘One vote against Corruption’, he said.
M C Kamaruddin is not corrupt. The business involved by the MLA collapsed. Cash should be returned to the investors. League will decide on the case against Kamaruddin. Let the law take its course. Opportunity will be given to youngsters and new faces in the local body polls. Talks are being held with allied parties related to Kerala Congress candidates’ issue.
Investigative agencies say party secretary's son is involved in drug dealings inside and outside the state. The government and the CPM are of the stand that a probe is not needed in it. All dealings of Binish Kodiyeri had the support of the government and the party secretary. The party secretary’s stand is to cheat the people. If the party is a dignified one, they should oust the secretary, he said.
