KASARGOD: M C Kamaruddin MLA who is serving remand for the Jewellery scam case has been sent under police custody for two days. The court has asked him to be present by 2.30 pm on Monday. Following this, the MLA was presented before the Hosdurg magisterial court. The MLA’s bail petition will be considered on coming Wednesday. While hearing on Kamaruddin’s bail plea was going on, the prosecution informed the court that clear evidence on Rs 13 crore worth of fraud cases in which he is the chief accused. Whereas his lawyer has told the court that the charges levelled against Kamaruddin won’t stand.

Meanwhile, another cheating case has been registered against Kamaruddin. With this, the cheating cases against him has become 112 in number. Pookoya Thangal, the first accused, who has gone undercover is also an accused in this case also. The new case is about cheating Rs 10 lakh from a native of Mavilakadappuram. The search operation for Pookoya Thangal is ongoing and police have also issued a lookout notice against him.
