KOCHI: Minister KT Jaleel left the Customs office after six-and-a-half hours of questioning. Jaleel, who came for NIA and ED interrogation secretly, came to Customs questioning with official escort. Customs had asked the minister to report for questioning by 10 am on Monday.

However, the minister came for interrogation after sanitizing the office as Customs ACP tested positive for COVID-19. As per reports, the Customs officers recorded the minister's statement in regard to the distribution of the Quran that arrived as diplomatic baggage from UAE.

There are also reports that the Customs sought details about dates distribution through the UAE consulate and Ramadan kit distribution in the minister's constituency. As per the Customs, there was a lack of vigil on the minister's part. After checking the details given by Jaleel, the investigation team will take a decision whether summon him for further questioning.
