PATNA: As counting of votes is progressing in Bihar, BJP has secured an upper hand as of now. NDA has secured more seats this time, due to the unexpected rise of BJP. The neck to neck fight presented by both fronts, at last, turned favourable towards BJP’s side. Even though BJP is moving towards the minimum majority needed to form government in the state, chances for a hung assembly also cannot be ruled out.
When the vote-counting has crossed the fifth hour NDA is leading in 127 seats and Mahagadbhandan is leading in 106 seats. LJP led by Chirag Paswan is leading only in six seats. A nip and tuck fight is currently going on between BJP and RJD to become the single largest party in Bihar. Giving more seats to Congress has been the sole reason for Mahagadhbandhan’s poor show this time.
RJD is currently leading in 60 seats, whereas Congress in 20 and left parties in 19 seats. In NDA, JDU is leading in 53 and BJP in 71 seats.
A political slugfest has already begun among party workers in NDA, with BJP securing more seats than JDU. Local leaders of JDU has already come up complaints that BJP was hatching plot to politically destroy them. Latest poll results have put JDU in the third spot after RJD and BJP. JDU has already declared that it won’t share the chief minister’s post.
JDU has even lost many of its sitting seats. Whereas BJP leaders in the state have attributed ‘Modi effect’, for the party’s rise in the state. They said that by Tuesday evening they will arrive at a final decision on government formation and the top leadership of the alliance.
