THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Customs has asked minister KT Jaleel to present the documents of his foreign trips. The minister has been asked to produce documents of trips that he made to Sharjah and Dubai to attend various functions. Customs sought the details after Jaleel explained to them that he was solely responsible for distributing the religious texts.

On Monday, minister Jaleel was questioned by the Customs for more than six hours in connection with a case of distribution of religious texts that were imported through the UAE Consulate. Following this, the minister was directed to produce the documents of his foreign trips. The minister has to produce documents including travel permits to attend the book fair in Sharjah and the alumni meet of Tirurangadi PSMO College held in Dubai.

Meanwhile, the minister explained that the travel to the Sharjah book fair was at the expense of the organizers and the trip to Dubai was at his own expense. The minister added that he went to the trips after getting prior permission.
