THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala health department has recommended breathing exercises for those recovering from COVID-19 as the virus is known to cause severe lung infection. People with respiratory ailments should take breathing exercises seriously. It also helps to overcome post-COVID physical difficulties. In such a situation, the health department gives importance to pulmonary rehabilitation, Health Minister KK Shailaja said.
If his/her health condition is satisfactory, a patient who recovers from COVID-19 can start exercising after getting discharged from the hospital. Exercise should be stopped immediately if he/she experiences chest pain, nausea, fatigue, dizziness, or mild headache. Get enough rest between each workout. A pulse oximeter can be used to monitor the heart rate and the level of oxygen in the body during exercise and other activities.
