KOCHI: A youth was shot at during a clash between drug mafia gangs. The incident happened at Mavin Chuvadu Junction in Perumbavoor early Wednesday morning at 1.30 am.

The victim has been identified as Aadil Sha, a native of Perumbavoor. The youth who sustained injuries in the firing has been admitted at a private hospital in Ernakulam. The injury is stated to be serious.

Aadil was attacked by a seven-member gang who came in a luxurious car. Initial reports said personal enmity is the reason for the attack.

A vehicle without a number suspected to be of the accused has been found. A search has been intensified for the accused who fled soon after the incident. Three of the accused have been identified. Perumbavoor police said they are collecting more details of the attack.
