KOZHIKODE: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is questioning K M Shaji MLA on the second day today in the case of receiving a bribe of Rs 25 lakh for permitting Plus Two in Azhikode School. The questioning began at 10 am in the morning. He was grilled for eight and a half hours yesterday.

The questions were mainly on the source of money spent on constructing the three-storeyed house at Vengeri village in his wife K M Asha’s name. The ED had the other day recorded the statement of Asha on it. She told them that she had not spent any money and everything was done by her husband.

Shaji had told ED that the house was constructed from the profit obtained in the ginger cultivated in the land taken on lease in Karnataka. The investigating team has sought detailed information on it.
