BEKAL: The Bekal police said K B Ganesh Kumar MLA’s office secretary Pradeep Kumar threatened the approver in the actress attack case. The Bekal police submitted a report mentioning everything in the Horsdurg First Class Magistrate Court.

Pradeep Kumar reached Bekal to see Vipin Lal, the main prosecution witness in the case on January 23 in 2020. He also went to Vipin’s relative’s house and the jewellery shop where his uncle is working in Kanhangad.

As he could not meet Vipin, he called his mother and introduced as his advocate’s clerk and then demanded to retract the statement. The threat continued through letters as well. When he could not bear the threat, Vipin lodged a complaint at the Bekal police on September 26.

It was identified that Pradeep Kumar is behind the incident on the basis of the documents produced in the lodge and CCTV visuals of the jewellery. Police suspect a major conspiracy in the incident.

It was Vipin Lal who helped in writing letter demanding money for many including Pulsar Suni, main accused in the case, while serving jail term. The letter saying that the crime has been committed and it should be paid for had stoked a big controversy then. Vipin Lal, a law student was jailed in connection with another case. After the letter was exposed, he was made accused in the case but later was made an approver. Vipin had told a private channel earlier that he was offered a hefty amount to retract his statements. He also said that he was threatened with dire consequences if given statement against actor Dileep.
