KALPETTA: Actor Vinayakan appeared in the court in the case registered against him on the complaint of a woman for talking to her over phone in an obscene and inducement manner. He appeared at the Kalpetta district sessions court Friday morning to take bail. The woman who lodged the complaint is a native of Pampady in Kottayam.

Her complaint said that Vinayakan spoke to her in an obscene and indecent manner when she called him to invite for a function. The Kalpetta police registered the case as the incident happened here. The actor was arrested and later released on bail.

The investigating team had submitted a charge sheet in the court after a four-month long probe. The charge sheet has mentioned that the actor has confessed to the act. Vinayak has been charged with offenses punishable by up to a year in prison.
