KASARGOD: Probe team records the arrests of MC Kamaruddin in 61 cases. The arrests have been recorded in 53 cases recorded in Chanthera police station and eight cases in Kasargod police station.

On November 16th, the probe team will submit the custody plea of Kamaruddin. Police have intensified search operation for Pookoya Thangal, the managing director of the jewellery, who has gone undercover. Sources say that he is likely to approach the court seeking anticipatory bail.

Police have registered two more cases against the accused. A native of Nileshwaram has filed a complaint, saying that he has not received the 410 gram of gold, which he invested on Kamaruddin’s jewellery in 2015. Another complaint comes from a Thrikaripur native who said that he has not received back six lakh rupees which he invested on the jewellery back in 2016.

Investment worth crores flowed to the jewellery within 16 years. Investors allege that the jewellery owners used their money to buy property in Bengaluru and resold it. In the case registered by the police, Kamaruddin and Pookoya Thangal is first and second accused respectively.
