NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted citizens on the occasion of Diwali. "Wishing everyone a Happy Diwali! May this festival further brightness and happiness. May everyone be prosperous and healthy," the Prime Minister tweeted.

He had urged people on Friday to light a diya as a mark of gratitude towards our soldiers who fearlessly protect the nation.

Like every year, the Prime Minister is likely to celebrate Diwali with troops.
In a separate tweet, he also paid tribute for former PM Jawaharlal Nehru on his 131st birth anniversary.
