KASARGOD: A construction worker was thrashed to death in Kasargod on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Thiruvananthapuram native Vijayan (65).

The incident occurred by around 7 pm on Sunday while Vijayan was drinking alcohol in his quarters. It is suspected that the murder was committed by a Thanjavur native who was staying with him in the quarters. Police have taken him into custody. Vijayan suffered a serious injury on the back of his head. His body is currently kept at the General Hospital mortuary.
