KOCHI: ED sources say that those who were summoned for questioning in connection with Bineesh Kodiyeri’s case are not cooperating and the agency has decided the inform court the uncooperative attitude of other accused during interrogation. S Arun has informed the agency that he can’t appear before the agency for 10 days. ED sources also say that the agency is not able to contact Abdul Lateef and Rasheed. The agency has earlier decided to question the trio on Wednesday.
The probe team will inform the stand taken by Bineesh’s friends on 18th when the court will consider his bail plea. ED has sent a notice to Bineesh Kodiyeri’s friends in connection with the money laundering case against him. The probe agency has sent notices to businessman Abdul Lateef, Muhammed Anoop and to three other persons with whom Bineesh has carried out illicit transactions—Rasheed, Arun S and his driver Anikuttan. They were asked to be present in ED’s headquarters on November 18th.
Even though the agency has sent notices to Abdul Lateef and Rasheed asking to appear for questioning, they rejected them citing various reasons. The agency has served them notice again. If they are not cooperating with ED, the agency might arrest them. Meanwhile, Bineesh Kodiyeri is serving remand in Parappana Agrahara jail.
