KOCHI: Ernakulam principal sessions court will issue its verdict on Sivasankar’s bail plea on Tuesday. Sivasankar has earlier told the court that he was arrested by ED as he did not say the names of certain leaders, as per the interest of the agency, in connection with the black money laundering case. Sivasankar also gave an explanatory note to the court, in which he said that the agency is trying to mislead the court with lies and partial truths.
He said that he had close ties with Swapna’s family but didn’t have any knowledge on gold smuggling. The former principal secretary of the chief minister also alleged that as he was holding a crucial post next to the CM, he was unnecessarily dragged into the case and he was trapped to subserve political motives.
If Sivasankar doesn’t get bail on Tuesday, he will be lodged in jail until November 26 and there is also possibility for customs to record his arrest and NIA to summon him again for interrogation. Meanwhile, vigilance will approach the court on Tuesday, seeking his custody in order to question him in connection with life mission scam. The department will file a plea in Ernakulam sessions court.
