THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K M Abraham has informed that he is not interested in continuing as the CEO of Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFBY) after his term ends. He has informed this to the government. His term will expire on December 31 and has requested the government not to extend it. It is not clear whether the present controversies related to KIIFBY are behind the decision.
Meantime, the CPM state secretariat alleged that the controversy against KIIFBY is part of a planned move to sabotage the development projects of the state. Central agencies like ED, CBI, NIA, customs and lastly the CAG is trying to subvert the development projects of the state. Instead of probing the gold smuggling case, the investigating agencies are trying to thwart the development projects. They have already intervened in K-Phone, E-mobility, Torres Park and Life Mission projects. Now they have interpreted that taking loan via KIIBY is illegal. If there is any corruption or irregularities in any of the projects of KIIFBY, the opposition should produce evidences. The opposition is circulating the lie that the government denied the right to audit KIIFBY. The statement of the secretariat pointed that the CAG concocted the interpretation to make KIIFBY illegal as they were not able to find any irregularities.
