THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Election Commission has temporarily frozen the 'two leaves' symbol of Kerala Congress (Mani). With this, both Joseph faction and Jose faction will not be able to use this symbol in local body elections. The symbol for the Joseph faction is 'chenda' (drum) while the Jose faction has been granted 'table fan' symbol.

Earlier, the Election Commission had allotted the 'two leaves' symbol to Jose faction. However, the decision was stayed after a petition was filed in the High Court against this. The symbols were granted based on the requests from the parties concerned.
