THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed 5792 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among this, 4985 persons developed the disease through contact including 639 cases without an identified source of infection. 104 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 64 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 6620 patients tested negative for the virus today.

The state recorded 27 COVID deaths on Tuesday with the toll rising to 1915.

In the last 24 hours, 56,157 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 10.31.

With the addition of 8 new regions today and the removal of 9, there are 599 hotspots in the state.
