KILIMANOOR: Candidates are about to turn up the heat on election campaigns on social media after the release of local election guidelines. Front and parties have decided to use the possibilities of election campaign through social media in the wake of the current situation.
Like always, the house-to-house campaign is not as practical this time. The Election Commission has also stipulated that a maximum of five people, including the candidate, should be allowed in the house-to-house campaign this time. With this, the stage is set for a digital war in this local election.
The election campaign in the coming days will be on social media like Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. The parties have been instructed to ensure the maximum presence of party activists in public WhatsApp groups of each area and to make opinions. Also, the parties have already formed cyber forces at the ward level.
