THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The copy of the final report of forensic examination on the fire in the Secretariat is out. The report has mentioned that the reason for the fire has not been found. The report also asserted that there is no evidence for fire from the fan.

Forensics’ chemistry and physics departments conducted two types of tests on the fire. The chemistry department examined almost 45 samples and physics 16 samples. The results of the forensic examination completely refuted the claims of the government and the police.

Samples collected after the fire included two liquor bottles. A chemical analysis was conducted on it. It was found that these two bottles contained liquor. Many bottles and cans were recovered. However, the forensic report said no oil or other fuel could be found which could be the reason for the fire.

The samples were collected from the protocol office in three stages. In this the samples of the fan were handed over in the second and third stage. It has to be believed that the samples of these fans were not collected when forensic experts examined in the first stage. The police later urged the forensic department to examine the samples of these fans. However, the forensic report said that no evidence of fire could be found from it.
