KOCHI: The vigilance team informed the court that former minister Ebrahim Kunju under custody in Palarivattom corruption case, is not cooperating with the probe. He got financial gains in the construction of the bridge and through that the government suffered a heavy loss. This was mentioned in the custody plea of Kunju. Arguments are continuing in the case.

Meantime, Kunju’s lawyer told the court that he has no role in the corruption and was named accused for giving permission for the construction of the bridge. The former minister is presently undergoing treatment at the Lakeshore Hospital. The vigilance can take him into custody only after he is discharged from the hospital within 14 days of the remand period. Meantime, industries secretary Mohammed Hanish has been named accused in the case. He has been named as the tenth accused in the case for sanctioning loan.
