THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed 5722 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among this, 4904 persons developed the disease through contact including 643 cases without an identified source of infection. 117 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 58 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 6860 patients tested negative for the virus today.

The state recorded 26 COVID deaths on Thursday with the toll rising to 1969.

In the last 24 hours, 67,017 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 8.54.
