KOCHI: The trial court asked the government to clarify their stand on the appointment of special public prosecutor in the actress attack case. The direction was given to director general of prosecutions. The high court had earlier rejected the demand of the complainant and the prosecution seeking transfer of the trial court. A Sukesan, the special public prosecutor in the case had resigned soon after the verdict.

Meantime, the trial proceedings in the case have resumed in a special court in Kochi. Sukesan had officially informed the court about his resignation. The investigating official Baiju Paulose appeared in the court as per their directive.

The government and the prosecutor stated that the court was biased. The victim's request was that the trial be transferred to another court as the prosecutor had lost faith in the court. The court did not consider the request of a male judge to appear before the court on completion of the victim's inquest.

The court ruled out transfer of trial court after observing that the change of trial court would create a false precedent and directed that the prosecution and the court should move forward with mutual trust.
