KOCHI: The state health department on Thursday gave a clean chit to the Kalamassery Medical College which faced serious allegations regarding medical negligence in the death of patients. The clean chit was given by an expert committee appointed by the health department. According to the report, the COVID patients died due to infection of the internal organs and the doctor who made the allegations could not produce evidence to prove otherwise.

Earlier, the police had also rejected the complaints regarding medical negligence at Kalamassery Medical College. The Kalamassery police informed the relatives of Fort Kochi native PK Harris and Ashokapuram native Jameela that there was no negligence on the part of the hospital authorities and no case could be registered.
