THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finance minister Thomas Isaac has said that he has no fear over the vigilance raids in KSFE’s offices and their findings are baseless. He added that vigilance is merely wasting their time. “The law is not made by vigilance. To interpret the existing laws the state has a legal department of its own. KSFE has invested the money collected via Pravasi chit funds in KIIFB with the prior approval of the legal department,” the finance minister said.
“Let them say what serious irregularities they have found in KSFE, then I will respond,” he stated. No law states that KSFE’s income should be fully paid in treasury. The issue is whether the government is able to fund the never-seen-before development projects in the state, and it is going on hassle-free. No curbs have been imposed on Panchayat’s fund even in the midst of the pandemic. He also said that ED is hatching a political game in KIIFB case and the financial institution has received all prior permissions from RBI.
