ALAPPUZHA: Finance Minister Dr Thomas Isaac has taken a tough stand soon after the vigilance raid on branches of KSFE. He directed KSFE officials not to allow vigilance officers coming for raids in branches without following rules. He gave the instruction at the KSFE director board meeting. KSFE authorities complained to the minister that the vigilance behaved badly and harassed the employees mentally. The minister took a tough stand following that.

The minister said that such raids would only undermine the credibility of KSFE. The raid can be based on any particular complaints and it should be informed to the management of KSFE. The minister said the places of inspection should be informed earlier.

Unofficially leaking the information of raid is part of defaming KSFE and the finance department. The finance department has obtained a report from KSFE on the incidents that happened the other day. If required will intervene after examining it, the minister said.

There is no need to conduct group raids at branches on the basis of specific complaints. Entry should be denied if any officials come. They should not be allowed to enter the branches. The raid was held without the consent of the chief minister or the office of the CM. It is being investigated as to who hatched the conspiracy. The finance department is also examining it, the minister added.
