KOLLAM: A youth poured acid on his wife, daughter and some neighbouring children for complaining against him to the police. The accused identified as Jayan of Eravipuram Valathungal poured acid on his wife Raji, daughter Adithya and neighbouring children Praveena and Niranjana. Seriously injured Raji and Adithya have been admitted at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. The Eravipuram police have registered a case.

Jayan addicted to drugs beats his wife and daughter regularly. He tortured his wife and daughter on Tuesday and then damaged some household appliances. Soon after the incident, Raji lodged a complaint. The police reached her house but was not able to nab him. Jayan, who returned later poured acid on the face of his wife, daughter and the neighbouring children. The police has intensified search for him who fled soon after the incident.
