THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Cyclone Burevi, which formed in the Bay of Bengal, could pass through the Thiruvananthapuram district in the next 48 hours. District collector Navjot Khosa has advised maintaining a state high alert and not to unnecessarily leave houses.
Do not venture into the sea or water until further notice. Navjot Khosa also said that a 24-hour control room has been set up at the Collectorate. In case of emergency, the public can call 1077. The Indian Meteorological Department has warned that the cyclone will pass through the southern part of Thiruvananthapuram district by Friday morning. A red alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts from Thursday.
