KOZHIKODE: Kerala Gazetted Officers' Union Mananthavady Taluk president NP Balakrishnan (55) was found dead in Chaliyar river on Friday. Beypore police have registered a case of unnatural death.

Balakrishnan is the senior superintendent of the Mananthavady AEO office. According to police, the body was found during the search that was conducted after his bike was found abandoned near the Farouk Bridge yesterday morning. He is survived by wife Jeeja, son Rishikesh and daughter Niveditha.
