THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed 4777 cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 4120 persons developed the disease through contact including 534 cases without an identified source of infection. 84 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 39 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 5217 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 60,924 active cases in the state.
The state recorded 28 COVID deaths on Sunday with the toll rising to 2418.

In the last 24 hours, 51,893 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 9.21.
With the addition of 3 new regions today and the removal of 1, there are 446 hotspots in the state.
