THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state is likely to receive isolated rainfall for the next two days. The weakened Cyclone Burevi will dissipate on Tuesday as it has remained practically still over the Gulf of Mannar region for more than 48 hours now. With the low pressure subsiding, the southern districts of Kerala will receive rain. Thundershowers are also expected today due to strong easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal. A yellow alert has been declared in Ernakulam district today.
Fisherfolks have been asked not to venture into the sea. People living close to the coastal regions have been asked to remain on alert as there is a possibility of strong waves. Heavy rains lashed the hilly areas of central and southern districts yesterday.
