IDUKKI: Two people were hacked to death following an altercation that broke out between migrant labourers at Valiyathovala in Idukki. The dead have been identified as Jamsh Marandi (32), natives of Latta in Godda district of Jharkhand and Shuk Lal Marandi (43). The police has taken into custody Sanjay Baski (30) of Jharkhand.

Shuk Lal’s wife Vasanthi has been hospitalised after she sustained head injuries. The incident happened last night at 10 pm. They are all labourers working in one George’s plantation in Valiyathovala. A financial dispute ended in the murder.

The accused who fled after committing the crime was nabbed by a search conducted by the police. Kattappana DySP Ency Raj Mohan sustained injuries while nabbing the accused.
