KOTTAYAM: A man who hacked his daughter with a knife for not waking up even after 7 am has been arrested. The accused has been identified as Reghu (48) of Karukachal. Seriously injured 17-year-old girl has been admitted at Kottayam Medical College.

The incident happened yesterday morning at 7 am. When she did not wake up, he reached her room and fought with her and in a fit of rage hacked her on her head and fingers. Her ring finger sustained serious injuries.

The girl who ran out of the house screaming was taken to the hospital by the locals. She was first taken to a private hospital in Karukachal and was later shifted to Kottayam Medical College Hospital. Her mother was not at home at the time of the incident.
