NEW DELHI: Left leaders K K Ragesh and Krishnaprasad were arrested for revolting in solidarity with farmer’s protest. Both of them were arrested by police in Bilaspur. CPM leaders like Amra Ram and Mariyam Dhavla were also held by police.
Meanwhile, Bhim Army Chief Chandrasekhar Azad was also arrested by police when he was starting to set out from home to the site in Delhi-Haryana border where farmers are protesting. Azad was arrested from his home in UP. CPM polit bureau member Subashini Ali is also under house arrest. More farmers from Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh are coming to New Delhi to take part in the protest. Leaders from different states who are participating in the protest in solidarity with the farmers are also being arrested. AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi has also said that Congress workers were arrested from UP for conducting protests supporting the farmers.
Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar is conducting talks with union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar. CPM has also alleged that centre is trying to suppress the farmer’s protest. CPM polit bureau member S Ramachandran Pillai asked whether BJP is trying to impose military rule in the country. The opposition has also said that they will meet the president over the issue of farmer’s protest.
