KOCHI: The stay on the CBI probe against the irregularities in Wadakkancherry Life Mission will continue till December 17. The high court postponed to 17 hearing on CBI’s plea urging to withdraw the stay on the probe. The CBI had asked the court to hear the petition today but the court did not pay heed to it.
The court accepted government lawyer’s contention that more time was needed to study the details of the case. The CBI informed the court that the probe against Life Mission was completely hampered by an interim order.
Santhosh Eepan, owner of UNITAC, the contractor had admitted that a part of the money received from foreign agency for the construction of flats was given as a bribe and as valuable gift. In this case, the CBI said they needed to find more facts and official conspiracy related to the Life Mission deal. The court had on October 13 stayed the probe against Life Mission.
