MANANTHAVADY: A voter collapsed and died in a polling booth. The incident happened at Mananthavady in Wayanad. The dead has been identified as Devi of Thrissileri Varinilam Colony. She was 54. She felt uneasiness and collapsed while coming out after casting the vote. She was taken to the hospital, but her life could not be saved.

Strong polling is taking place in the second phase of the local body elections as in the first phase. A long queue of voters was witnessed in front of the booths. Polling was disrupted for some time due to the technical glitch in the voting machines. Polling is held in Kottayam, Ernakulam, Wayanad, Thrissur and Palakkad.
