THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has written to the Governor seeking an order for an inquiry against Speaker Sreeramakrishnan on corruption allegations. The letter called to probe corruption and fraud in awarding contracts worth crores of rupees to agencies, including the Uralungal Society, in violation of the rules.
Chennithala alleges corruption and fraud in the Speaker's action in spending crores of rupees on the contract for the running of the Loka Kerala Sabha in 2017 and the e-Niyamasabha project implemented at a cost of Rs 53 crore and the 'Festival on Democracy' program during the floods by spending crores. The letter asked the governor to order a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
